    Description

    SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Manages the Backpack, School Pantry, and all other Youth Feeding programs based on need and program funding. Establishes relationships with existing child-feeding programs and offers support pertaining to available grants, training, ordering assistance, and proper reporting procedures. Oversees partner programming and agency outreach and requires offsite partner visits.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Program and Community Outreach

    • Manages the on-boarding, training, and monitoring of School Partner Programs and Youth Feeding Programs which is a combination of virtual and in-person meetings
    • Conducts approximately 100 program site visits per year.
    • Represents FMWNY and Food for Kids programming at community meetings, coalitions, and/or state events and conferences as related to the position

    Program Administration

    • Acts as liaison between FMWNY and program partners
    • Establishes relationships with existing child-feeding programs and offers support pertaining to outreach programs
    • Collaborates with FMWNY facilities team to manage allocations, inventory, product ordering, and deliveries for FMWNY's feeding programs, including anticipating needs to prevent shortages.
    • Collects and maintains monthly reports and required paperwork for programs.
    • Establishes and maintains program contractual agreements with each participating school in compliance with Feeding America National policies and procedures.
    • Maintains highly organized program information and records.
    • Participates in agency and programs review committee.
    • Provide excellent customer service to our partner agencies and program partners.

    Grant Administration

    • Works with Development team to determine program goals and sustainability of programs based on current funding.
    • Develops plan to increase program participation and expansion based on current and potential grant funding.
    • Analyzes information, client statistics, and grant spending from programs to assist with grant reporting and grant applications.

    Program Evaluation and Expansion

    • Evaluates and improves program activities to guide program participation and expansion.
    • Facilitates changes with the program site environment to support improvement in program processes and procedures.
    • Work with Nutrition, Client Services, and Business Development to expand after school feeding programs, and expansion into CACFP.

    Agency Relations

    • Oversight of relationships with programs, agencies and participants
    • Oversight of partner agency visits, ordering, accounts, and files

    General

    • Provides assistance to clients with direction of Emergency Food Relief Organizations (EFRO) in their areas.
    • Assist with any and all mission work as needed and requested with some or no prior notice including, but not limited to: serving as a truck spotter, helping with Farm Market/Community Garden/Freight Farms/on and off-site food distributions, preparation of meals and serving home-delivered meals.
    • Other duties as assigned or needed.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 2 years' experience working with low-income populations, including intern or volunteer experience
    • Excellent organizational and time management skill
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
    • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and public relations skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word and Excel
    • Demonstrated ability in teaching and public speaking
    • Current & valid NYS driver's license and access to an automobile
    • Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 35 lbs.

    QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

    • Current ServSafe or other food safety certification
    • Previous volunteer experience at FeedMore
    • Energetic, enthusiastic, and creative
    • Ability to learn new computer software programs
    • Able to take initiative and work independently
    • Ability to adapt and grow in an expanding program
