WS - Software Engineer (DSP) _May 2020
Role Description & Primary Duties
As part of our Power Electronics Team, the DSP Engineer will be developing and integrating software for magniX's electric propulsion systems. responsible for full life-cycle development (plan, design, verify, certify) of embedded software for control of electric power systems, typically done in C, and certifying to aerospace standards (following DO178).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and verify embedded software for the motor controller following DO178 requirements.
- Be responsible for embedded code and integration on the target DSP multi core.
- Diagnose, debug and solve issues to meet production milestones
- Support Hardware and software integration in an Agile development environment.
- Take on additional duties and responsibilities within magniX as part of the team effort and being a member of a small, engaged, and proactive team.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
- At least 5 years experience in embedded software development/verification, preferably using DO178 or similar industry standards.
- Design and development software experience on DSP dual core (TMS320F2833X/ TMS320F2837X)
- Experience with power electronics preferred
- Experience with aspects of the software life cycle process including planning, decomposition of system requirements to high-level software requirements, low-level requirements, architecture, code, verification, and certification.
- In-depth knowledge of the C coding language. Strong C/C++ development experience.
- Understanding of quality software development processes.
