Position Overview
We are seeking a Workers’ Compensation Attorney with at least 1 year of experience in California workers’ compensation law. This role is based in-office in Oakland and includes both case handling responsibilities and oversight of a team of case managers.


This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to expand into a leadership role while continuing to develop litigation skills.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation matters from inception through resolution
  • Negotiate and settlement of active cases
  • Appear at hearings, conferences, depositions, and trials as required
  • Supervise and provide direction to a team of case managers
  • Review case manager work to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper case progression
  • Communicate with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and settlement documents
  • Evaluate cases and lead settlement negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with WCAB procedures, deadlines, and internal workflows
Qualifications


  • Active California Bar license (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of workers’ compensation experience
  • Strong knowledge of WCAB procedures and California labor code
  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring staff is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while overseeing support staff
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
