Overview:The Workday Solution Architect is responsible for translating functional requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable Workday solutions across Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation (including Advanced Compensation). This role operates at the intersection of functional design and technical execution, partnering with functional SMEs to convert business requirements into well-structured Workday configurations, including business processes, calculated fields, reporting, and security models. The role emphasizes disciplined use of Workday’s native capabilities, ensuring solutions are aligned with platform constraints and long-term maintainability.
This position owns the design and integrity of Workday configurations and integrations, establishing standards for how business processes, reporting frameworks, and data flows are implemented within the platform. The architect is responsible for defining when to leverage configuration versus integration or API-based solutions, and for ensuring consistent use of tools such as EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, and Workday APIs (SOAP and REST). This includes applying appropriate data transformation techniques (XSLT) and authentication mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, SAML) to support secure and scalable integrations.
Serving as the primary technical authority for Workday solution design, this role drives architectural consistency across modules and integrations, reviews and refines designs produced by other team members or partners, and ensures that all implementations adhere to established standards for performance, security, and extensibility. The role requires deep, hands-on expertise in Workday configuration, reporting, and integration frameworks, with the ability to translate complex requirements into efficient and sustainable system designs.
