Contract Rate: $85.00 – $115.00/hr

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly technical Workday Data Specialist to support a high-priority multi-operator Workday deployment with go-lives targeted for January 1 and April of next year. This is not a reporting role or a data conversion role. The primary focus for the first 30–60 days will be educating an internal data warehouse team on Workday data extraction approaches and architecture options, producing sample data files, and serving as the internal Workday data guardian for all downstream data consumption. The ideal candidate can credibly advise on Workday data architecture and also roll up their sleeves to execute hands-on deliverables. US citizens and green card holders only; H-1B candidates will not be considered.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–7 years of hands-on Workday technical experience, with deep knowledge of Workday business objects, data model, APIs, EIBs, Core Connectors, and Workday Studio.
• Strong expertise in Workday data extraction, data mapping, ETL-related processes, and how Workday data can be architected into an internal data warehouse.
• Ability to advise on data warehouse architecture from a Workday perspective and partner credibly with a technical internal data team that lacks Workday-specific knowledge.
• Experience producing sample data files, defining extraction approaches, and documenting data flows for downstream consumption.
• Strong understanding of Workday Web Services, APIs, and object relationships supporting complex data movement.
• Ability to troubleshoot data quality issues and serve as a governance resource for how Workday data is accessed and used.

Preferred / Desired Experience

• Roughly 7 years of experience is ideal, particularly at the architect-advisory level.
• Experience building data solutions for analytics, business intelligence, or enterprise data warehouse platforms.
• Workday Extend is a plus; Prism Analytics experience is not required for this role.
• Experience collaborating with internal data warehouse or BI teams unfamiliar with the Workday data model.
• Background establishing data governance standards and documentation around Workday data extraction.
• Experience supporting enterprise Workday environments across multiple business entities or operators.
• Workday technical certifications are highly desirable.
