Role Summary

Senior technical consultant responsible for the full lifecycle of PTC Windchill environments installation, configuration, deployment, and ongoing operational health across monolithic and clustered topologies. Owns infrastructure reliability, SSO integration, backup/restore, and patching for enterprise PLM landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Architecture

• Install and configure Windchill in both monolithic (single-server) and clustered/distributed topologies (multiple method servers, background method servers, server manager, load-balanced web tiers)
• Stand up supporting stack: Oracle DB, Apache/web server, LDAP/AD directory services, file vaults, cache/replica servers
• Size, provision, and tune environments across dev, test, CRP, staging, and production

Identity & SSO

• Configure single sign-on via Okta (SAML/OIDC), including SP/IdP metadata exchange, attribute mapping, and session management
• Integrate Windchill with enterprise directory (LDAP/AD) for authentication and authorization

Deployment & Release

• Execute code deployment: Windchill customizations, overrides, MBOM/configuration packages, and staged promotion across environments
• Perform environment cloning/refresh (prod-to-lower) including DB clone, vault re-pathing, hostname/URL reconfiguration, and post-clone validation

Operations & Maintenance

• Plan and apply CPS/patches, maintenance releases, and hotfixes with rollback planning
• Design and execute backup/restore strategy (DB, file vaults, config) and validate recoverability through DR drills
• Routine maintenance: index rebuilds, cache management, log rotation, purge jobs, queue/background-queue health, performance monitoring and tuning
• Onboarding / Offboarding users
• License management

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on Windchill PDMLink administration/installation (Windchill 12.x/13.x preferred)
• Proven delivery of clustered/HA Windchill deployments, not just single-node
• SSO implementation experience with Okta or comparable IdP (SAML/OIDC)
• Strong Oracle DB skills (backup/restore, clone, tuning basics) and Apache web-tier configuration
• Linux/RHEL administration; shell scripting; comfort with deployment automation
• Demonstrated patching, clone/refresh, and DR/backup-restore execution in production
