Title: White Collar & Tax Litigation Legal Assistant

Role Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Location: Dallas

Candidate Profile

Ideal Experience

  • Experience supporting white collar litigation, tax litigation, and/or complex commercial litigation practices
  • Candidates with a general business or commercial litigation background are also encouraged to apply
  • Experience in a Texas law firm environment handling sophisticated litigation matters is strongly preferred
  • This position is not a fit for candidates whose experience is exclusively focused on personal injury plaintiff work
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage the needs of multiple attorneys

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 DOE
  • Parking: Paid by the firm (parking lot is conveniently located near the building)
  • Medical Insurance - Employee-only premiums fully covered by the firm
  • High-deductible health plan
  • $250 monthly HSA contribution beginning on Day One
  • Dental Insurance - Employee-only premiums covered under the basic plan
  • Profit Sharing - 3% of salary contributed beginning on Day One (subject to vesting schedule)
  • Bonus - Discretionary year-end bonus based on tenure and firm performance

  • Will directly support 4 professionals
  • Operates within a pod-based support system:
  • Assigned to a primary group of attorneys

  • Fully onsite position with a 40-hour workweek
  • Typical schedules vary slightly by team, with common shifts of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing complex administrative duties in a professional environment, preferably within a law firm

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with legal billing software, preferably Aderant
  • Typing speed of approximately 70 WPM
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities
  • Working knowledge of drafting, formatting, and editing legal documents
  • Understanding of county, state, and federal court systems
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain correspondence, documents, and electronic files
  • Provide telephone coverage and relay messages as needed
  • Coordinate teleconferences and conference calls
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate meetings, make travel arrangements (including airfare and hotel reservations), and submit reimbursement requests
  • Provide administrative support services, including courier coordination, document processing assistance, and conference room reservations
  • Support multiple attorneys and practice groups as needed
  • Prepare and maintain complex organizational charts
  • Handle state and federal court e-filing
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including litigation-related filings and correspondence
  • Prepare electronic closing binders
  • Assist with the preparation of private offering documents
  • Coordinate CLE registrations and track attorney CLE requirements
  • Review, revise, and distribute prebills and invoices for attorney review and approval
