Description
The Purpose
The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality instruction to all students-including high school students and adult learners-in alignment with Blue Ridge Community College's Open Door policy. The ultimate goal is to meet the occupational and general educational needs of students through curriculum, continuing education, and workforce training courses. Classes may be scheduled during the day, evening, or weekends and may be delivered at multiple locations within the College's service area.
This is a 9-month faculty position. The role will primarily support instruction at Brevard and Rosman High Schools and follow the Transylvania County Schools calendar. Any additional work outside of the 9-month assignment will be compensated on an adjunct basis at the established full-time adjunct rate.

Qualifications
Education
Required: Associate degree in Welding Technology, or a closely related field.
Preferred: Associate Degree plus the American Welding Society (AWS) educator and inspector certification.
Experience
Industry experience in welding technology with a minimum of five years of work-related experience. Previous college teaching experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
The faculty member will possess strong personal and professional integrity, the ability to instruct, teach and demonstrate Welding Technology techniques in both the classroom and shop floor environments, a commitment to professional development and student success, possess creative problem-solving skills, works well with others in a team environment, good verbal and written communication skills, a solid commitment to safety, and the proper use of personal protective equipment. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, database systems, College email and website, Learning Management Software, and other computer applications associated with the position.

Physical Demands
The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.

Summer Time Schedule
Enjoy a 3 Day weekend during the Summer! The summer 4 - day work week will begin in May and will end in July. The hours of operation will be 7:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Thursday. Off on Friday!
