Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil, environmental, mechanical, or chemical engineering, with hands-on experience in infrastructure planning and design. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of hydraulic systems, construction principles, and project execution.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Analyze project requirements and conduct alternative studies to prepare detailed technical reports for submittals.
Interpret and utilize survey reports, maps, blueprints, aerial imagery, and topographic or geologic data to support project planning and design.
Evaluate the performance of collection and distribution systems, identify current or potential deficiencies, and propose effective engineering solutions.
Apply knowledge in hydraulic design, sewer rehabilitation, water and wastewater systems, pump station design, treatment processes, engineering economics, and technical documentation.
Possess a sound understanding of general heavy construction principles; experience with environmental facility operations is a plus.
Perform design computations and prepare engineering drawings using industry-standard software.
Ensure project designs align with client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Develop and/or review detailed construction cost estimates.
Prepare and compile contract plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
Attend and participate in client meetings; assist in documenting meeting discussions and action items.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and understand how each discipline contributes to overall project success.
Conduct quality reviews of project designs in compliance with the Project Management Plan.
Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and support to junior engineers on the team.
Required Qualifications:
5 10 years of professional engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
Proficiency in engineering design tools including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, and MS Project.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Professional Engineering (PE) License.
Experience working with local government agencies at the county and/or state level.
Working Conditions:
Approximately 95% of work will be performed in a typical office environment generally sedentary, with occasional standing or walking.
Lighting and climate are adequate, with no hazardous or unpleasant office conditions.
