    Description

    The Department Lead will serve as a resource and work closely with the Materials Supervisor and other team

    managers to achieve department goals related to productivity, quality, delivery, and safety. The Department

    Lead will help train employees and assist in directing the work of the department. This role plays a key part

    in driving operational efficiency, ensuring high-quality output, and fostering a collaborative, positive work

    environment. Success in this position requires strong leadership competencies, technical expertise, and the

    ability to lead by example on the production floor.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

    • Spend approximately 80% of the workday on production activities.
    • Communicate with the Supervisor and other Leads to manage and prioritize job assignments to

    meet customer demand and the production schedule.

    • Assist in training employees on safety practices and department-specific procedures.
    • Ensure adherence to standardized work, instructions, and procedures, and communicate updates

    promptly.

    • Monitor quality output and address any non-conformances with the Production Supervisor.
    • Ensure departmental compliance with all safety standards and immediately report any issues or

    concerns.

    • Monitor and report daily defects, scrap, and lost time.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
    • Enforce the use of required Personal Protective Equipment and OSHA compliance.
    • Identify and support process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Demonstrate strong leadership and communication with hourly teams and management.
    • Lead by example in promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and

    teamwork.

    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    Minimum 3 years' experience

    Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution Equipment

    High School Diploma or GED equivalent

    Strong Leadership skills, communication, and interpersonal skills

    Proven problem solver and detailed oriented.

    Knowledge of general industry OSHA standards.
