The VP of Operations will be responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities across the business. This person will oversee multiple functional areas including production, engineering, supply chain, quality, inventory, logistics, scheduling, and warehouse operations across two buildings operating as one site.
This is a highly visible and hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the President/CEO. The company is seeking a practical operational leader capable of balancing strategic planning with day-to-day execution while helping build scalable operational infrastructure.
The organization has experienced significant growth, and operational infrastructure has not kept pace with demand. Leadership is seeking someone who can bring structure, accountability, process discipline, and operational leadership to support the next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
Own overall plant and operational performance across the organization
Drive throughput, labor utilization, and operational efficiency improvements
Ensure on-time delivery and production execution
Reduce cost per part and improve operational margins
Align supply chain, production, and inventory management functions
Own quality performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Lead and develop operational leadership teams
Establish accountability, structure, and operational discipline across departments
Develop and monitor operational KPIs and reporting metrics
Partner closely with ownership on operational strategy and long-term planning
Support infrastructure development to keep pace with company growth
Maintain strong visibility on the production floor and throughout day-to-day operations
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, and customer service teams
Drive process improvements related to workflow, labor management, production flow, and operational efficiency
Ensure safety standards and operational compliance are consistently maintained
Organizational Structure
This role will directly oversee operational leadership across multiple functional areas including Plant Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality.
The VP of Operations will inherit an existing operational structure that includes approximately 13 indirect reports underneath department leadership.
The company currently has an internal operations leader in place, but leadership believes the organization requires a more experienced operational executive capable of leading the business through its next stage of growth.
Ideal Candidate Profile
5-10+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience at the VP of Operations, Director of Operations, Plant Director, or similar leadership level
Strong manufacturing operations background within plastics manufacturing or similarly nuanced manufacturing environments preferred
Experience within rotational molding, blow molding, vacuum forming, or related plastics manufacturing processes strongly preferred
Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work effectively in a family-owned business environment
Strong operational discipline and process orientation
Proven ability to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and operational structure
Strong communication, accountability, and leadership skills
Highly organized with strong time management and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution
Comfortable leading in a fast-paced manufacturing environment experiencing growth and scaling challenges
