VISTA Outreach and Communications Coordinator - Year 1
Orel Alliance provides compassionate support and essential services to Ukrainian refugees living in Nebraska, helping them resettle with dignity and hope. Located in Omaha with a second location in Lincoln. Orel Alliance is a newer organization, and are at a crossroads with community needs at a level not anticipated. VISTA member will help build capacity for the organization, and the communities being served, by increasing awareness through marketing efforts and community outreach. Programs that assist low-income Ukrainian refugees in meeting basic needs of housing, health care and food. This underserved population also participates in Orel''s referral program for networking with other available social services. The member will increase public support and awareness for the needs of the refugee population. This increase in community outreach will build awareness and capacity for the organization to have a greater impact through program deliverables. The Member will also develop marketing strategies to combat and prevent homelessness in the Ukrainian refugee population living in Nebraska. The Member will build capacity for a sustainable future for the organization by developing and initially piloting the program. implementing a community outreach program with ongoing implementation transitioned to staff or volunteers. Marketing strategies will include reproducible templates which will aid in program stability after the VISTA service year is completed. These strategies will be incorporated into the organizations strategic plan and fund development . Member Duties : The VISTA Member will assist Orel Alliance in developing and implementing a public outreach plan in the Omaha and Lincoln communities. Member will support the awareness of the issues impacting the Ukrainian refugees, needs and ways to support resettlement programs. The member will network and build capacity through collaborative efforts with connect with other social service organizations to streamline services and resources. VISTA Member will develop and initially pilot a public outreach plan for the Omaha and Lincoln communities. The member will create outreach strategies, materials, partnership resources, and communication tools to improve public understanding and awareness of issues affecting Ukrainian refugees and available resettlement resources.
