Unit Coordinator - Maternity Services

Coordinates and supervises provision of patient care and patient flow in the Maternity Suites consistent with the philosophy policies, standards of care, and standards of practice of the organization, the nursing department, and the laws of the state. Supervises RNs, LPNs, NAs, Unit Secretary. Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN required. Current or temporary license to practice in North Carolina. Current BCLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider required. Obstetric/Neonatal certification preferred. Complete knowledge of purpose and use of Maternity Suites equipment. Knowledge and application of professional nursing theory, practice, and procedures for labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. Effective communication skills. Leadership skills, including ability to organize and prioritize, use critical thinking skills, and problem solve. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, other health care personnel, visitors, and the public. Minimum of three years clinical experience in Labor Delivery
