Nationwide Travel | Approximately 30 Days On / 14 Days Off | Weekly Pay

Job Overview

This is a nationwide travel position. Candidates may live anywhere in the United States and must be willing to travel nationwide for extended assignments.

Sharp Spoon Network has been retained to recruit experienced Traveling Cooks on behalf of a nationally recognized leader in disaster response, remote workforce support and large-scale culinary operations.

This is not a traditional local restaurant position.

You'll work as part of a high-volume culinary team supporting projects that may include data centers, disaster recovery operations, military support, remote workforce camps and other large-scale foodservice operations across the United States.

If you have strong commercial kitchen experience, are comfortable producing food in volume and like the idea of traveling for work, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a Traveling Cook, responsibilities may include:

  • Prepare and cook food in high-volume kitchen environments
  • Follow standardized recipes and production schedules
  • Work assigned grill, sauté, fry, prep or other production stations
  • Support large-volume meal preparation and service
  • Maintain food quality, consistency and portion standards
  • Receive, store and rotate food products
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Follow food safety and sanitation requirements
  • Work effectively with cooks, kitchen assistants and culinary leadership
  • Assist with other kitchen production needs as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • 5+ years of professional culinary experience
  • Hands-on experience working in a commercial kitchen
  • Experience with catering, banquets, high-volume food production or other large-scale meal service
  • Ability to work approximately 12-hour shifts during deployments
  • Willingness to travel nationwide for approximately 30 days at a time
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass a required background check
  • Ability to pass required drug screening

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following environments is especially valued:

  • Catering and banquets
  • Hotels and resorts
  • Convention or event foodservice
  • Sports and entertainment venues
  • Contract or institutional dining
  • Military foodservice
  • Offshore or remote-site foodservice
  • Disaster response
  • Mobile or temporary kitchens

Travel & Deployment

This position requires:

  • Nationwide travel
  • Approximately 30 consecutive days on assignment
  • Approximately 14 days off between deployments
  • Approximately 12-hour shifts during deployments
  • Hotel accommodations when available
  • Camp-style housing on some remote projects
  • Ability to work in different locations and kitchen environments throughout the year

Company-paid travel and lodging are provided for qualifying deployments.
