Job Details Position: Wound Care Registered Nurse Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job Setting: On-site, high-volume clinical environment Location: Washington, DC 20007 - a vibrant, historic area with easy access to city culture, dining, and major medical resources Start Date: 10/19/2026 End Date: 1/18/2027 Duration: 13 weeks Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts Hours per Week: 40 Orientation Hours: 28 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,780 - $1,870 Weekend/Holiday Schedule: No weekends or holidays Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse license in the District of Columbia required at time of submission Minimum of 2 years of recent wound care RN experience required At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment required Current BLS certification required Wound, ostomy, and continence nursing experience strongly preferred Experience with ostomy care, pressure injury management, and patient education Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume wound care and consult environment Strong communication skills and a collaborative, patient-centered mindset Must be able to work within compliance timelines for onboarding and required modules Responsibilities Provide skilled wound care and ostomy nursing support for a diverse patient population Assess, plan, and implement evidence-based care for pressure injuries and complex wounds Support ostomy patients post-operatively and provide ongoing education and follow-up Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including surgical and critical care partners, to develop care plans Perform prevention rounding and deliver real-time education when census allows Document assessments and consults accurately, including use of facility-approved camera capture tools Participate in team discussions for higher-acuity pressure injuries and care coordination Educate patients and families on wound care, ostomy management, and self-care techniques Contribute to a patient-centered environment focused on quality, safety, and positive outcomes Apply now to join this Washington, DC wound care travel nursing opportunity and advance your career in a supportive, collaborative healthcare setting.
