Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 18 months of recent specialty experience and a GA or compact RN license in hand.

Details

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting, mapped to Med Surg B
  • Cardiac patient population including CHF, congenital heart disease, LVADs, angioplasty, dysrhythmias, heart transplant, A-fib, cardiogenic shock, CAD, and chest pain
  • Utilizes vasoactive drips such as Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, and Milrinone, along with Lasix, Bumex, Heparin, and insulin
  • Requires peritoneal dialysis and insulin drip experience
  • Day shift schedule: 3x12s, 36 hours per week
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active GA or compact RN license required in hand
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 18 months of PCU experience within the last 3 years required
  • Experience with peritoneal dialysis and insulin drip management required
  • Must pass a proctored rhythm identification test (non-multiple choice, two attempts allowed) upon starting

Additional Information

  • Provide progressive cardiac care to patients with complex cardiac conditions
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Former Emory or Houston permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year before returning to the health system, or 18 months if returning to the same facility
  • RTO limited to a maximum of 5 days if not falling on or near a holiday, or 3 days if it does; only one holiday request permitted per traveler
