Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring 3+ years of tele experience and CA licensure.

Details

  • Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend required, plus additional weekends as unit need dictates
  • On-call required as needed
  • May float to other units within scope of practice, including Summit or Herrick Campus
  • Floating notice typically given 1.5 hours prior to shift start, with shuttle service provided
  • Epic charting system used

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (or MAB) certifications
  • Minimum 3 years of RN telemetry experience required
  • Minimum 6 months of recent travel nursing experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management preferred
  • Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management, with titration skills preferred
  • Experience with post cardiac cath, angiogram, and cardiac surgery patients preferred
  • Neurological care experience including CVA, craniotomy, and seizure disorders preferred
  • 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry monitoring and cardiac care to a med-surg/telemetry patient population
  • Support neurological and cardiovascular patients including pre/post-surgical care
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidacy consideration
  • Former employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
  • Only 1 holiday may be requested off per contract, covering New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
  • Lab work must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
  • Compliance documents due 10 days prior to start
  • Re-orientation required only if separated 6+ months since last shift and prior orientation was completed at this facility
  • Prior travel experience required for this position
