Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position on night shift, requiring 3+ years of RN Tele experience and a CA RN license.

Details

  • Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend required plus additional weekends based on unit needs
  • On-call as needed
  • May float to other units within scope of practice, including other campuses, with as little as 1.5 hours notice
  • Shuttle service provided when floating between campuses
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
  • Minimum 3 years of RN Telemetry experience required
  • Minimum 6 months of travel nursing experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and phlebotomy
  • Experience managing respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
  • Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Nursys report uploaded within the last 2 weeks showing valid CA license
  • All certifications must be AHA or ARC issued with valid expiration dates
  • Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry nursing care to cardiac, neurological, and general medical-surgical patients
  • Monitor and manage cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and PCA per unit protocols
  • Support patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, and neurosurgery as needed
  • Manage care for patients with CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and craniotomy recovery
  • Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
  • Returning travelers must have a separation period of at least 1 year before reapplying
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
  • Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
  • Re-orientation required only if previously oriented at this facility and separated for 6+ months
  • Compliance documents due 10 days prior to start, with lab work completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
