Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with at least 6 months of neurology experience for a night shift role at a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• Neurology/Telemetry unit within a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center, and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend required
• Floating between units required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS also required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• At least 6 months of neurology experience required
• Proficiency with NIH Stroke Scale and neurology diagnoses required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with neurological conditions including craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury required
• Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube care (Emerson/PleurEvac) preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown nursing care including cardiac monitoring and management of neurological conditions
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidates should reside within 50 miles of the facility for local rate consideration
• Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
