Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring at least 1 year of tele experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • 36-bed Medical Telemetry unit within the main hospital
  • Patient ratios of 1:3 AM / 1:4 PM or 1:4 AM / 1:5 PM with patient care tech support
  • Total RN-based care model with limited tech availability; unit secretaries scheduled 7a-7p
  • Uses BiPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps
  • Documentation completed in Meditech
  • 12-hour shifts from 7a-7p
  • Weekend rotation and rotating holiday schedule required
  • Floating to MedSurg units required, with bonus shift staff floating first

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required, AHA or ARC accepted with no expiration within first 30 days of start
  • NIH Stroke Certification required for this unit
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry nursing experience required
  • Strong advanced assessment and critical thinking skills required
  • Experience managing vasoactive drips required
  • Central Line or PICC line placement experience preferred
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
  • Two professional references required for Missouri placements
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center with Stroke, STEMI, and Bariatric accreditations
  • Designated Education Unit with newly installed cardiac monitors for in-room rhythm visualization
  • Responsibilities include bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and participation in daily leadership rounds
  • Required uniform includes charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms, and black or charcoal grey jackets
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude is valued on this unit
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
