Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position on a 7P-7A schedule requiring prior post-cardiac procedural care experience.

Details

  • Work in a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit on the Main Campus
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Unit staffed with a Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
  • Uses Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, dinamap monitors, Welch Allyn vital machines, wound vacs, temporary pacemakers, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and Doppler equipment
  • Uses Imobile for team communication
  • Documentation performed in Meditech
  • Shift schedule is 7P-7A, full time, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
  • Floating required to any area where competency has been demonstrated

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU required
  • Must be able to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
  • Experience with post cardiac procedural care required, including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 open heart, and permanent pacemaker placements
  • Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
  • Experience with IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
  • Two professional references required for MO placements
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

  • Required dress code is navy blue scrubs, with an option for black scrub pants paired with a navy blue top
