Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the applicable state or compact license in hand at submission
- At least 1 year of telemetry nursing experience
- Comfort caring for patients on a heavy neuro unit and willingness to learn
- Experience with neuro/telemetry, stroke, or post-surgical neurology patients preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency with Epic required
- Strong knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac monitoring, and telemetry nursing workflows
- Ability to manage a patient load of approximately 1:5
- Professional references available during compliance and prior to start
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to telemetry and neurology patients in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Care for post-surgical neurology patients and patients with varied neurological diagnoses
- Perform NIH stroke scale assessments and support evidence-based neuro care
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver safe, efficient, patient-centered care
- Support unit flow by floating as needed to meet patient care demands
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow all unit protocols
- Deliver compassionate care while adapting to the needs of a dynamic, high-acuity environment
