Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the appropriate state, or compact license in hand at submission
• At least 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required
• Neuro nursing experience strongly preferred; at least 6 months of neuro experience required for certain night shift needs
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting system required
• Experience managing patient ratios of approximately 1:5
• Comfort working in a high-acuity environment with neuro and telemetry patients
• Ability to float between comparable acute care units as needed
• Must be willing to work every other weekend and commit to holiday coverage as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to telemetry and neuroscience patients with a variety of diagnoses
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately
• Utilize the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and support care for stroke and other neuro patients
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate safe, effective patient care
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical protocols and best practices
• Support pre- and post-neurosurgical care and other unit-specific patient needs
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic
• Adapt to unit needs, including floating when required and maintaining flexibility throughout the assignment
