Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for assignment in Washington state; compact RN license must be in hand at submission
• At least 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required
• Neurology experience preferred for heavier neuro patient populations; must be comfortable learning and working in a neuro-focused environment
• Experience caring for post-surgical neurology patients and monitoring patients with neurological diagnoses
• Proficiency with the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to work every other weekend and commit to 3 of the 5 major holidays if assigned
• Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered care for telemetry and neurological patients with complex needs
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess for changes in condition, and respond appropriately to clinical updates
• Care for post-operative and neurological patients, including those recovering from stroke or other neuro events
• Perform ongoing assessments, document accurately in Epic, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Administer medications and support treatments consistent with telemetry and neuro step-down standards
• Use critical thinking to prioritize care in a 1:4 patient ratio environment
• Adapt to float needs and support unit operations as patient volumes change
• Promote a positive, compassionate patient experience while maintaining high clinical standards
