Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with neurology experience for a Level II Trauma Center, ideal for first-time travelers with at least one year of experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
• Neurology patient population including post-surgical, CVA, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating between units required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale
• Experience caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring preferred
• Two professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and neurological nursing care including monitoring for cardiac dysrhythmias and neuro stepdown needs
• May float between sister facilities near the contracted site
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Any color scrubs accepted for RNs
• No fee for parking
