Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with neurology experience for a 13-week assignment requiring a WA or compact RN license and prior neuro/telemetry background.

Details

  • Telemetry unit within a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma facility
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
  • Floating between units and sister facilities required
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale
  • Experience caring for post-surgical neurology and various neurology diagnoses required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skills required include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and neurological/psychiatric care including craniotomy, CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
  • Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring required
  • Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown care for post-surgical and neurological patients
  • Teaching hospital environment within a Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
  • Scrubs of any color permitted for RN staff
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
