Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift cardiovascular telemetry unit position requiring a VA or compact RN license and recent specialty experience.

Details

  • Work in a 54-bed cardiovascular telemetry unit split into three 18-bed wings, with patients also cared for in an overflow unit
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Floating may be requested based on facility needs
  • Flexible scheduling preferred
  • May be scheduled to work if a holiday falls during the assignment period

Requirements

  • Active VA RN license in hand or proof of compact license required at time of consideration
  • Current BLS, ACLS (preferred), and NIHSS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Specialty experience within the last year required
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • NIH and stroke education required
  • Cardiac telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with cardiac drip management (titration and non-titration) and Heparin protocols
  • Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, cardiac surgery, and sheath removal
  • Preferred skills include chemotherapy administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, central and PICC line care, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care on a cardiovascular telemetry unit, including monitoring, medication administration, and management of cardiac conditions
  • Prior permanent employees must have been separated from employment for at least 6 months before being eligible for a travel assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • RTO requests should be minimized, with no calendar week off preferred and a maximum of 7 total days; all requests must be submitted with the initial application and no additional RTO will be approved after an offer is extended
  • Travel experience is not required, making this role suitable for first-time travelers
