Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN)

Job Description

The Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care by utilizing the Nursing Process in adherence to the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. The position requires strong critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and the ability to lead in planning and delivering safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accountability for patient care during assigned shifts.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities based on the education and experience of available staff.
• Supervise and provide direction to personnel delivering patient care.
• Anticipate and plan for the safe delivery of patient care.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Arizona nursing license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in medical-surgical or telemetry settings.
• Ability to work in a float pool capacity across multiple departments and facilities.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), preferably Cerner.

Schedule Requirements

• Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, working three 12-hour shifts per week.
• Required to work six weekend shifts within a six-week schedule.

Patient Care Ratio

The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 6:1.

Uniform Requirements

Scrub color: Any color is acceptable.

Locations

Position to float between designated facilities in the region, including locations in Oro Valley, AZ, as well as nearby facilities in Houghton and Sahuarita, AZ.
