Job Summary:
The Telemetry Medical Surgical Float Nurse position located in Rock Island, Illinois, is a vital member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role involves providing advanced clinical care to patients within a dynamic hospital environment. The float nurse may be asked to work across different units within the same discipline to support patient needs and enhance operational efficiency.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Two years of previous experience, at least one completed travel contract preferred. Valid state licenses for Illinois and Iowa are required. Certifications in BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) are mandatory. Must possess a drivers license, work history/resume, skills checklist completed within one year of submission, license verification, and a supervisory reference at the time of submission.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, central lines, CBIs, drains; familiarity with medications such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, Argatroban with some titration.
- Additional Information: The assignment begins on 08/24/2026. The unit maintains a patient ratio of 1:7, and filling vacancies with travel nurses reduces this ratio. This position requires working 1-2 of the 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). Orientation sessions are scheduled periodically throughout the year. Travelers must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility, except in Madison, where local candidates are accepted with a 10% rate reduction.
