Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least one year of related nursing experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the IMC MedSurgical unit of a hospital setting
  • Telemetry/Med-Surg patient population
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Full-time, 13-week assignment

Requirements

  • Active RN license (TX or compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
  • BSN preferred
  • Must not have worked at any CHRISTUS Health facility (non-travel) within the past 6 months

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families
  • Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
  • New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with completion of organizational and Med-Surg specific competency validations
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidate eligibility, subject to facility approval
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
