Key Responsibilities of the Histology Technician

• Receiving specimens from surgery and accessioning them into Cerner
• Collection of blocks from PA staff
• Processing tissue and embedding
• Cutting and staining of slides

Requirements of the Histology Technician

• A minimum of 2 years of experience within the specialty
• ASCP (HT/HLT) certification
• Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences
