Key Responsibilities of the Histotechnologist - Histology Technician- Receive specimens from surgery and accession samples into Cerner
- Collect and organize blocks from PA staff for further processing
- Process tissue specimens, embed samples, and prepare slides
- Perform cutting and staining of slides for pathology review
Requirements of the Histotechnologist - Histology Technician- ASCP (HT/HLT) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in histology
- Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program, or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences
