Job Summary:
ORT (Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician) in an acute care setting, working in a sterile processing unit. The position involves assisting with decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments. The role requires maintaining compliance with hospital protocols within the sterile processing department, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly disinfected and sterilized to support surgical procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Evenings shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with additional weekend shifts from 6:00 PM on Friday to 6:30 AM on Sunday. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) certification; BLS (AHA) certification; minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing. Must hold a valid license to submit.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma cases and handling devices such as Steris sterilizers and Vpro Medivator is preferred.
• Additional Information: Orientation will be conducted during the first week with 1-2 preceptor shifts. The position is situated in an acute care facility with a trauma level 1 designation. No floating outside of the designated unit is required, and self-scheduling or block scheduling is not permitted.
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• End Date: 01/11/2027
• Note: Hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment, or three shifts for shorter assignments.
