Certified Surgical Technician (CST) / CVOR – Travel

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | Projected Start: 09/14/2026

Key Responsibilities

• Proficiently scrub open heart and cardiovascular cases in the CVOR setting
• Prepare the operating room, including the sterile field, and set up surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon and manage surgical equipment during procedures
• Simultaneously manage the sterile field and surgical specimens throughout cases
• Perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects
• Float to Main OR, Sterile Processing Department, or serve as a constant observer as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), following completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or equivalent programmatically-accredited surgical technology program
• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency scrubbing open heart and cardiovascular cases
• Candidates local to the facility will not be considered for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience floating between OR, CVOR, and Sterile Processing environments
• Familiarity with heart and vascular call coverage requirements
• Ability to adapt quickly to new facility protocols and team dynamics
