Contract | Travel | Days | 13-Week Assignment | Start Time: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | On-Call Required (approximately 4 shifts/month)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions prior to procedures
- Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during surgical procedures
- Manage the sterile field and surgical specimens simultaneously throughout procedures
- Perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects
- Float to Sterile Processing or serve as an inpatient floor sitter when OR volume is low
- Fulfill on-call obligations as required by the department schedule
Required Qualifications
- Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited or other programmatically-accredited surgical technology program
- Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Ability to perform on-call shifts as scheduled
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating to Sterile Processing departments
- Familiarity with a variety of surgical specialties within a main OR setting
