Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Surgical unit position requiring at least one year of relevant nursing experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work in the surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Provides post-operative care for complex surgical patients
• Cares for patients with new tracheostomies
• Manages complex wounds including wound vac care
• Assesses, manages, and educates patients and families on new ostomies
• Collaborates with general surgical and OMFS residency services
• Day shift schedule: 7:00a-7:30p (3x 12-hour shifts)
• 36 hours per week over 3 days
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• Holiday coverage on a rotating basis
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required

Additional Information

• Serves as the primary caregiver responsible for a designated group of patients, utilizing the nursing process to guide care
• Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
• Implements and modifies nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation of patient outcomes
• Maintains accurate documentation to support care coordination across the healthcare team
• Reports and corrects safety hazards to ensure patient and staff safety
• Collaborates with peers and provides constructive feedback to support professional development
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO may not exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
