Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Surgical unit position requiring IL RN licensure, EPIC charting experience, and Level 1 Trauma experience

Details

  • Work in the Surgical unit (T7) of a hospital environment
  • Provides post-operative care for a complex surgical patient population
  • Monitors and cares for newly placed tracheostomies
  • Manages complex wounds including those requiring wound vac therapy
  • Assesses, manages, and educates patients and families on new ostomies
  • Collaborates with general surgical residency and OMFS residency services
  • Day shift schedule: 7:00a-7:30p, 3x12-hour shifts per week
  • 36 hours per week
  • Weekend shifts on a rotating basis
  • Holiday coverage includes 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
  • Uses EPIC EMR for charting

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Experience with ostomy care and patient education preferred

Additional Information

  • Serves as a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients, utilizing the nursing process and available resources
  • Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care
  • Implements and modifies care plans based on continuous patient evaluation
  • Maintains accurate documentation to support care coordination across the healthcare team
  • Reports and addresses safety hazards for patients and staff
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
  • Contingent workers may not work continuously at this facility for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service before returning
