Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Newburgh, Indiana, near Evansville

- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
- Anticipated Start: Fall 2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,030
- Weekend Requirement: Three weekends within each six-week schedule
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Floating: May float within the nurse’s skill set to nearby affiliated campuses, with advance notice for cross-campus assignments
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs without competing health-system or agency logos
Med-Surg Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license required
- Associate degree in nursing or nursing certificate
- At least 2 years of strong Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment
- Trauma Level II experience preferred and may be required for consideration
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience, including successful completion of a system checkoff
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Adaptability, resilience, reliability, and a collaborative approach to patient care
- Willingness to participate in a clinical interview and support students or newly hired staff when needed
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to observation and Medical-Surgical patients during overnight shifts
- Care for patients presenting with chest pain, abdominal or flank pain, CVA/TIA symptoms, generalized weakness, and placement-related needs
- Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Administer medications and manage stable drips, including heparin, Lasix, and Protonix, according to orders and policy
- Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access and complete required clinical interventions
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with providers, LPNs, CNAs, patients, and families to coordinate effective patient care
- Float within the nurse’s competency and adapt to changing patient-care priorities across nearby campuses when requested
- Promote a positive team culture while maintaining excellent patient-care standards in a fast-paced observation and Medical-Surgical setting
