Travel Nursing Job Details

- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930–$2,030

- Contract: 13 weeks, ending January 31, 2027
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Orientation: 12 hours, with biweekly orientation availability
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5–7 on nights
- Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Three weekends within each six-week schedule and every other holiday
- Call: No on-call or callback requirement
- Floating: First to float within the RN skill set, including nearby campuses when needed; advance notice is provided for cross-campus floating
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs without competing health-system or agency logos
Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with an active compact or applicable state license
- At least 2 years of strong medical-surgical nursing experience
- At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment
- Level II trauma experience
- Associate degree or nursing certificate, as required for the assignment
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience; completion of an Epic checkoff class is required
- Strong patient assessment, organization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Adaptability, resilience, and a collaborative approach to patient care
Medical-Surgical Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to observation and medical-surgical patients throughout the night shift
- Care for patients presenting with chest pain, abdominal or flank pain, CVA/TIA, generalized weakness, and placement-related needs
- Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access
- Safely manage stable infusions, including heparin, Lasix, and Protonix drips
- Accurately document nursing care and clinical findings in Epic
- Collaborate effectively with providers, LPNs, CNAs, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Float within the assigned RN skill set and support nearby campuses when operational needs arise
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
- Precept nursing students and new hires when assigned
