Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Surgery Trauma unit, requiring BLS certification and prior Level 1 trauma center experience.

Details

Surgery Trauma unit within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
Patient ratio of 5:1
Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
No block scheduling available; must be willing to work assigned shifts
Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
No on-call requirements
EPIC EMR experience required
Unit supported by nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and unit secretary at night
Nurse handoff completed between ED nurse and admitting unit

Requirements

Active RN license (GA state or Compact) currently in hand
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg specialty
Experience in high-volume, high-acuity trauma hospitals required
Proven background managing critical, fast-paced trauma situations
Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

Additional Information

Provide nursing care in a high-acuity surgical trauma setting handling complex and challenging cases
No RTO permitted during this assignment
Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel rate
