Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our high-acuity Surgical Trauma unit. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including individuals affected by surgical emergencies, gunshot wounds, quadriplegic and paraplegic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care in a high-acuity environment.
Assist in the management and treatment of diverse cases, including trauma patients.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Perform nursing assessments, develop care plans, and monitor patient progress.
Engage in effective communication during nurse handoff with ED nurses and admitting units.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a specialty, preferably in trauma or surgical nursing.
BLS certification required.
Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is required.
No requests for time off (RTO) will be accepted.
Flexibility to work various shifts without a block schedule is essential.

Patient Care Information

The unit maintains a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1 and is supported by nursing support technicians and phlebotomists. A unit secretary is available during nighttime hours to assist with administrative tasks.
