Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Step Down/Telemetry unit requiring cardiac monitoring experience and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Step Down unit with a mix of med/surg and intermediate care (IMC) patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on assignment
• May be required to accept med/surg overflow patients
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30) with 36 or 48 hour options
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management preferred
• Experience managing central, peripheral, arterial, and PICC lines preferred
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and emergency response for cardiac patients, including rapid response and code team involvement
• Manage IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Support respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy management as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
