Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step-Down/PCU night shift position requiring telemetry and cardiac drip management skills.

Details

  • Dual unit setting covering both PCU/Stepdown and general floor sides
  • PCU ratios of 2-3 patients per nurse, floor ratios typically 4, occasionally 5
  • All nurses work across both sides of the unit
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
  • No on-call requirements
  • No block scheduling accommodations available
  • Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias required
  • Telemetry monitoring experience required
  • Experience managing and titrating cardiac drips required
  • Chest tube management experience required
  • EPIC EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Works in a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during first week of orientation
  • Local candidates not accepted
  • Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
  • Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
  • Standard travelers may stay for an 18-month period and must take a 3-month break after reaching that limit
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
