Registered Nurse – Step Down / Advanced PCU

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (36 Hours/Week) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced step-down care in a high-acuity PCU environment that operates similarly to an ICU setting
  • Care for post-surgical cardiac patients, including 24-hour post-CABG patients with chest tubes
  • Monitor and manage patients with LVADs, with facility-provided training available
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 and deliver care consistent with unit protocols
  • Complete a proctored, written rhythm identification test upon unit orientation (two attempts permitted)

Required Qualifications

  • Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license – must be in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum of 18 months of IMC/PCU/Step-Down specialty experience within the past 3 years
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Ability to pass a proctored rhythm identification test (non-multiple choice) upon start
  • Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility (no local travelers)

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience caring for post-cardiac surgery patients, including chest tube management
  • Familiarity with LVAD patient care
  • Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
