Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Stepdown RN for a night shift assignment requiring SC or compact RN license and stepdown/PCU experience.

Details

• 22-bed adult Med Surg Oncology unit that frequently floats to Stepdown, PCU, and MS/Tele units
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Stepdown ratios of 1:4-5 and Med Surg ratios of 1:5-6
• Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
• Frequent floating within the hospital based on clinical experience and floating policies
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to frequent floating
• IV therapy/phlebotomy skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across Med Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units as needed
• Skills utilized may include central line care, blood product administration, respiratory support, cardiac monitoring, and wound care
• Holiday and weekend coverage required on a rotating basis
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the first weeks of the assignment
• Returning staff must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
• Facility will not accept candidates with license or background issues
