Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a MedSurg/Stepdown position requiring 2 years of med surg experience and comfort with frequent floating between units.

Details

• 22-bed adult MedSurg Oncology unit, frequently floating to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• 13-week contract with possible extension
• Stepdown ratios 1:4-5, MedSurg ratios 1:5-6
• Weekday schedule with every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Frequent floating within the facility required
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required
• BLS certification required (ACLS and NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years med surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating expectations
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Care for adult MedSurg and Oncology patients with floating to Stepdown and MS/Tele units as needed
• Must be comfortable with high floating frequency and varying patient ratios
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white required
• Must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility
• First time travelers accepted
• Facility will not accept candidates with license or background hits
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff
• Minimal to no RTO approved unless discussed prior to assignment start
