The role focuses on helping students access the general education curriculum. The teacher will assist students in developing academic and life skills. The goal is to help students achieve educational objectives in the least restrictive environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ learning needs and abilities. Adapt curriculum, teaching methods, and materials to support diverse learners. Provide small-group and individualized instruction. Support students in developing academic, social, behavioral, and life skills. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs. Write measurable goals and objectives aligned with student needs. Track and report student progress toward IEP goals. Ensure compliance with federal regulations and local education statutes. Conduct formal and informal assessments to evaluate student performance. Use data to guide instruction and adjust interventions. Participate in reevaluations and eligibility determinations. Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers. Participate in IEP team meetings and multidisciplinary planning. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and needs. Implement behavior intervention strategies and plans. Promote positive behavior and a supportive classroom environment. Support students with social-emotional and behavioral challenges. Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and service documentation. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with applicable laws. Follow district policies and procedures. The work environment is classroom-based, which may include inclusion, resource room, or self-contained classrooms. Collaboration may be required across multiple classrooms or grade levels. This position involves movement, supervision, and support for students.
