Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring a VA or compact license and 2 years of SICU experience.

Details

• Surgical ICU unit within a Short-Term Acute Care hospital and Level II Trauma Center
• Specialized patient population including trauma, CV surgery (TAVR, CABG), neurosurgery, and complex surgical patients
• Patient ratios of 1:2-3 based on acuity and skill level
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of SICU experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with arterial line management and blood product administration required
• Experience managing diagnoses including acute ventilator need, COVID+ with high O2 demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, trauma cases, open heart recovery, TAVR recovery, post-code blue, multi-system organ failure, and CRRT needs

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex surgical and trauma patients recovering from major surgeries and acute conditions
• Navy blue scrubs required
