You'll use your clinical judgment and nursing expertise to assess patients, develop individualized care plans, provide education, monitor treatment, and promote safe outcomes for both mothers and newborns. Patient Assessment & Nursing Care • Perform comprehensive and ongoing health assessments. • Collect, evaluate, and document patient health data. • Assess patient needs and develop individualized nursing care plans. • Implement, monitor, and evaluate nursing interventions. • Provide direct nursing care consistent with professional standards. • Monitor patient condition and identify changes requiring intervention. • Review and monitor treatment and therapy plans. • Refer patients for additional evaluation or treatment when appropriate. • Provide supportive and restorative care that promotes health and well-being. Maternal-Newborn & Family Support • Provide compassionate care to postpartum mothers and newborns. • Support patients and families as they transition into the postpartum period. • Provide appropriate health teaching and counseling. • Educate patients and families regarding care, treatments, recovery, and ongoing health needs. • Encourage patient and family participation in care decisions. • Promote a safe, supportive, and positive patient experience. Collaboration & Clinical Communication • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. • Provide consultation and support to members of the healthcare team. • Appropriately delegate tasks within scope of practice. • Supervise and support delegated activities as required. • Execute delegated medical functions in accordance with applicable standards and policies. • Utilize available clinical resources to support safe and effective patient outcomes.
