Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 24-bed mixed inpatient/outpatient unit, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Details
- 24-bed unit with a mixed population of inpatients and outpatients
- Inpatient population is general med-surg with pediatric patients
- Outpatient population includes pre/post cardiac cath, blood transfusions, thoracentesis, plurex drain insertions, tunnel dialysis cath removals, and aortograms
- Nurse to patient ratio of 5-6:1
- 3x12 evening shift schedule, 7p-7a
- Weekend and holiday rotation required
- 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members
- Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans based on the nursing process
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and care coordination
- Provide patient and family-centered education
- Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
- Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; candidates outside this radius are not eligible, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
- First-time travelers may be considered given no prior experience requirement
